week 1
my boss had said that i probably wouldn't be doing much of the new job for another 2 weeks. how wrong he was... within half a day, i'd already spotted something that needed taking care of. and that just spawned nearly endless emailing for the best part of the week. and just as i thought that had been taken care of and i could go home, what did i get but an email from one of my clients asking that new group courses be set up for 11 people. of course... the kind of stuff that wasn't really going to happen until the summer, i'd been told. i got a bit nervous, as it was my first time doing this, and having to word it all in French as well... it's just hard when you've spent the last 15 years of your life writing all the official stuff in English. practice will make perfect, of course, but i basically spent a lot of time double checking with my line manager. problem is, neither him nor the boss will be around next week, so that'll be fun...
