10 things i did this weekend

this weekend i: 

- saw old friends

- visited castles

- played with kids

- petted a dog, a cat and a hamster!

- contributed to an Easter egg hunt

- had a pint of HB

- spent a lot of time in Wales

- enjoyed a walk in the Forest of Dean

- ate clotted cream by the spoonful

- was glad i wore my winter coat

the gig

T. used to play the guitar for us in his room at uni yet we never went to one of his gigs. we made up for that by going to see him on Friday night. in Cardiff. 20 years later. about time, too.

GPS doesn't like Welsh

on our way to a certain pub in Cardiff that we didn't know the location to, we turned on the GPS to make sure we were going in the right direction. suddenly, the voice instructed us to turn left onto T-Y-N-Y Parkway. at first, i thought there was a new acronym i didn't know about but in fact, the GPS clearly didn't know how to pronounce Welsh. admittedly, that would sound very much like 'toonoo', but it's a bit odd that while a GPS can speak tons of languages (my father likes his instructions to be in Danish), they haven't figured out a way for it to speak Welsh...

no lilacs

i don't know what happened but there are no lilacs this year; not on my balcony, anyhow :(
