ballroom dancing

my mother once told me that she thought she'd brought us up well except for one thing: we didn't know how to ballroom dance. i will never forget this comment. and so, when i recently saw an ad for ballroom dancing classes (which tend to be non-existant), i thought i'd give it a try. 

so there i was, at my trial class. the turnout was bigger than i'd expected (around 30 people) and although there were slightly more women than men, it was doable. we spent about 40 mns on our first waltz steps and then 20 mns on passo doble. it was loads of fun. i was quite tense at first, dancing with complete strangers, but i was able to relax as the class went on. when we were done, i signed up for the term. we'll see how that goes!
