the reunion
i'd told my friends i'd be in town Friday and Saturday. i was actually getting in Thursday evening but i couldn't see anyone trying to organise anything then. luckily, i checked my emails the day before leaving and found out some of my friends from summer school were organising a small reunion. did i want to come? hell yeah!
it was brilliant. we were 7 oldies, 2 of whom i hadn't seen in 19 years. 19 years. scary to think it's been that long. another 3 i hadn't seen in 14 years. in fact, only one had i seen regularly since finishing uni. it was really great seeing them all again. and it was like we were all 17 again and not a day had gone by. ok, so a couple had lost some hair and we all have some form of wrinkles, but seriously, we could have been back in our shared rooms. the personalities, the sense of humour, were the same.
after dinner, the 5 of us that were left went to a bar. we talked until 1.30am. i had no voice left but i didn't care. i was having so much fun. as the bar closed, though, i decided it was time to go. although L. really wanted to go dancing and K. seemed to be willing to follow her, i also had other people to see during my stay and i really needed some rest. but what an evening!
