when N. is away...

N. took some time off to get married, which is completely fine. as he was going to be away for 10 days, and i've now been working with him for a while, i was going to deal with some of his stuff. he gave me a list of pending things, and that was, according to him, all i'd have to do. our boss would take care of the rest. that was the theory. in practise, as some of his contact people knew i'd be there, they took the opportunity to contact me directly about other matters. and because the boss didn't necessarily have time to do everything else, i basically ended up doing a lot. some of it was easy but other stuff i wasn't necessarily sure how to handle - every client is different and needs different things - but i guess it mostly all worked out in the end. still, it's been some long, long days and i am very, very tired. and i can't wait for N. to get back and take over again.
