jumping to conclusions
i was out for dinner with a friend the other night and she asked if there was anyone i was interested in these days. i thought there was no harm in telling her i did have my eye on a guy but that was all there was so far. within 2 sentences she'd already jumped ahead and said something like 'oh, great, when you guys are married...' and i just thought, wow, hang on a second! i barely know the guy and i have no idea whether a) he's single (i really should find out), b) interested and c) whether this would even work - and with my track record, it probably wouldn't. and now i kind of feel this huge pressure to deliver, which i really didn't need.
